Most states don't have a specific set of things homeschoolers must learn, instead they have general guidelines about subjects. Go to http://www.hslda.com to find out the law in Kentucky. Left hand side of the screen, click on "In Your State", click on "laws"
If the state doesn't require a specific scope and sequence, then you can pick what you like best from the sources you already found. Or look at
http://www.worldbook.com
to see a typical course of study.
You looked under board of education Kentucky? Try to find the school superintendent for the school district and write them or call to find out what the 7th graders are learning now.
Try information on the phone and ask for the board of education department. Good luck.
KRS 158.080 requires that instruction be offered in English and in the branches of study that are taught in public schools as found in the Program of Studies KRS 156.160 and (704 KAR 3.303). This is interpreted to at least include reading, writing, spelling, grammar, history, mathematics and civics.

What is more important than finding what a typical 7th grader should learn is what your 7th grader already knows and building on it. Why limit them or force them beyond their capabilities without knowing where they are? This is in Oklahoma, but the requirements meet up with national standards and are similar to those across the country. Plus they are easier to read than most other websites

I have been home schooling for 9 yrs. In my experience, the public school system will not gear you the right direction. they are losing money because your child is not going there. I would suggest to hook up with a home school group in your area. The public library have many books on home schooling. They have one called, "what my {grade} should know." Its really great. spend some time with your child for the first few weeks, just learning them. Find their weaknesses and strengths. Here's a great site.
