"The past was erased"...would that be considered personification?

Question:What about

Lie became truth seems like a paradox? All of this was once sentence: The past was erased, the eraser was forgoten, the lie became truth. I need to know if I can use it has a literacy device in some way.

Personification is giving human characteristics to something which is not human, so no.

It's a nice enough sentence, if you like passive verbs (I don't, much), but I don't see it as employing any literary device.
