I've always wanted to learn Hebrew also. I've studied historical theology for years and thought it would be great to be able to just read it.
But it is a very, very difficult language to learn. If you have a knack for languages or a Jewish background or even thinking of going into a career field you think it might be needed, even though there is no shortage of Hebrew translators.....go for it!
If not, it is not a language to play around with nor will you be able to use it much here. I think that most people who know hebrew know english and they don't get special treatment or have much call for translators beyond that which exist. I think the languages to learn now are Spanish (or Italian - these seem roughly similar enough that you can get by in each with knowledge of one) and Japanese.

Well, I still say that is a good idea. It's really impressive for a person to know more than one language, or know any language other than their native. I'm learning Japanese and no ones is against it. Do what you want, and learning Hebrew might help you in the future.
Good luck! I took ancient hebrew in university and got a lot out of it, the old testament is a whole other creature in its own tongue. Any language is good to learn, the more, the better.
That is great. Anything to expand your horizons is great. There is nothing better than to visit a land where the culture is different yet understand their language.
Learning a new language is always good.
i don't see any bad points to learning new languages
besides the fact some can be very diffucult to understand ti takes tons of practice
