"Can the New Zealand flag be flown from any building?"?

Question:We thought there is or was a law (guideline?) that stated that the NZ flag could only be flown from government buildings.

Answers:
There are no restrictions on where the New Zealand flag may be flown as long as the appropriate protocols are followed.

I have provided a link below which details those protocols.
In my country there was such law but it changed and now it can be flown from any building.
Search on the net or ask your local administration (embassy if you are in any other country.)
