Are handwritten (thank you) letters becoming a lost art?

Question:Should we still teach letter writing in our elementary schools?

I still hand write letters and notes, even to friends who have a computer. There are some things that need to be kept for a long while so they can be read over and over..things that make you feel good and boost your spirits.

I also write my return address on personal letters and notes,,,I use those sticky address labels for business mailings.

Should still be taught in elementry schools...
Letter writing should still be taught to young children. It still feels more genuine when you see true handwriting versus typed notes on a thank you card/letter.
I wrote three last week, and received will not become extinct, but, will have a decline...
