Can someone explain this quote to me please?

Question:"They say that time changes things, but actually you have to change them yourself."-Andy Warhol

Basically it's saying that time alone can't change anything, you have to make things happen. Of course, time does change things, you age, seasons, etc. all change alone by time, but let's say you're in school, you can't graduate by simply sitting in class getting older, you have to apply yourself and pass the required courses. Same goes with promotions on a job or the progression of a relationship, if you don't put forth the effort to create changes, you'll become stagnate.
Quite honestly, Andy Warhol was a moron.
I don't think he is entirely right. Things certainly change with time because the world is continuously evolving. However,
there are times when nature can be assisted and persuaded by man to change things to his advantage.
