I am looking for someone who is a deaf educator or a speechlanguage pathologist who works with hearing impaire

Question:Where can I find someone who will come to the university of Houston as a guest speaker. I am looking for someone who is a deaf educator or a speechlanguage pathologist who works with the hearing impaired.

Answers:
The American Speech Language Hearing Association has a clinician and subspecialists locator on its website, asha.org, which is for finding SLPs and audiologists.
You can also telephone local audiologists and ask who they recommend.
Another resource is your local school district office. Every school district has a deaf ed department.
Contact your local Society for people with disabilities. Another option is to contact a college where sign language is taught and ask for referrals.
Contact the Texas Association of the Deaf for recommeded speakers. They just had a conference back in June so they may recommend somebody from other states. www.deaftexas.org
