MASTER IN EUROPEAN STUDIES (6th EDITION)
Brussels, from September 17th to December 14th, 2007
Designed for those who wish to study, understand and experience Europe, the Master in European Studies, sixth edition, is a postgraduate programme which provides students with a specialised grounding in the European dimension at the institutional, policy and funding levels. It is organized by the European desk of the Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Institute of European Studies of the Université libre de Bruxelles and the Department of International studies of the University of Padua.
We teach European planning to young people, enabling them to coordinate and manage projects which follow the guidelines suggested by the European Commission. We have chosen to train these people in Brussels because we believe that only in the capital of Europe it is possible to set up a serious training job. This is due to permanent contact with the Institutions and the consultants who work for and with them.
Not many advisors know how to support companies in practical terms when it comes to using the resources Europe makes available regarding the internationalization and innovation processes. The expert in planning, whom this Master aims to train, works in consulting firms, in Chambers of Commerce, in the Euro Info Centres, in multinational companies involved in a process of internationalization and in small and medium sized companies of the service sector. The participant to our Master can also work as a Community advisor for European business companies.
The Master degree is organised into three modules, with a first theoretical part about European Institutions and Community Policies. The second part is about European planning and programmes, with practical training dealing with actual cases. Finally, there is a third part of lectures held at European Institutions, such as the Commission, the European Parliament and the European Council (in Brussels), and at the European Investment Bank (in Luxemburg). Many meetings with experts, advisors and lobbyists who work in Brussels will be scheduled weekly.
The training is set up to provide a sound theoretical knowledge combined with a thoroughly analysed practical part regarding European projects and an essential knowledge on how work is performed in Brussels.
