You can apply for any number of animation courses. At my university, Concordia University in Montreal (Canada), we have an excellent film animation program and also programs in design and computation arts, or video. Each has a different flavour -- film animation is more artistic and experimental, design and computation arts more web based and could easily move into many areas including gaming, and video is wider and more related to the general fine arts programs, and can include certain kinds of animation.
Have a look at our website at www.concordia.ca, go to the faculty of fine arts, mel hoppenheim school of cinema (for film animation) and look around.
If you're interested, open a portal to apply (no obligation, no fee until you submit) and you can be contacted by coordinators in the different areas who can answer questions. The portal application site is www.connect2concordia.ca
